Avery CD Label Templates - 5931, 8691, 8692

Postby Theresa6803 » Mon Oct 27, 2014 3:10 pm

Hello, I have the Avery labels 8691.
1 There is a label 8692 listed ..can I use this as a template and be pretty close? I have looked at the edit dimensions and these are to the thousanths of an inch, ( don't think I can measure that exact) and I really would rather pick a template you have there that is the closest to my 8691 labels. Also on my box of labels, is says to use the template 5931 in Microsoft word or Avery software. I do see you have 5931 listed in Audiolabel .....should I pick it???

2. Also I have the 5.2mm slim case for CD's...which template is the one for this in the software?

Thankyou!!

Hi,

1. The Avery templates 5931, 8691, and 8962 all have the same exact template dimensions, so you can select any of them. I think Avery has different part numbers because each package has different options (like jewel case tray labels).

2. For the slim CD case, you can select the "(CD Jewel Case - Plain Paper)" template in the "Change Label Template" dialog of AudioLabel. The slim CD case does not use a back CD tray label, so you would only print out the folded Front cover (which fits in the slim CD case). There are slim case labels that have an extra flap that can be seen through the spine/side of the case; however, AudioLabel does not currently include this type of template.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thankyou so much. Just what I needed to know.
So , would I print the Jewel case insert on plain paper, or is there special paper for this?
Also, do I need to calibrate my inkjet printer before printing the label/insert? Or just print when ready?

Hi,

1. I would suggest printing the jewel case insert on plain paper (with the "Print Border" option turned on), and then cut out the insert with scissors. You can also print on photo paper if you need something a little more high quality.

2. Since you are not printing on pre-cut/perforated label paper, you do not need to calibrate the printer. Most printers are calibrated fairly well, so you would only calibrate if there was a problem (otherwise, you're good to go).
